My brass quintet, the Pinnacle Brass, is doing our annual noonday Christmas concert at a local church, and it is going to be live streamed on Facebook. Look for Central Presbyterian Church in Austin. I’m the trumpet player with hair.

Oh, well la-dee-da, look who’s head is nice and warm then.
I’ll be over here in my beanie.

I work a desk job in an office, and I sit under an AC vent . I wear long underwear under my clothes and a knit cap every day. My feet are freezing right now.
The room we’re in has a wall with the top 12" left open...the other side of the wall is another department, and they complain all day that their side of the room is too warm. The thermostat is on their side of the wall and our maintenance dept has just quit caring.

I had the opposite problem at my last job. There was a broken steam line *under* my office and there was no way to fix it without ripping out the foundation. I brought in a thermometer to record the temps. In the middle of winter it was 95 deg F inside my office. It might have been bearable if I had a window that would open.

I enjoyed the concert, but someone needs to get the cameraman a tripod!

Thanks. The camera was a phone propped up on a music stand. This is not a high tech church.

That s ounds awful. Good thing you got out of there!
We also brought in a thermometer, and usually in the morning it’s 67 degrees. By the time everyone gets in and we’ve been working half the day, it breaks 68. I keep my house at 68 in the winter, so that’s not so bad. At home though, I’m not sitting under a vent blowing cold air.

I used the A/C to my advantage at my last desk. People who wanted to talk to had to stand directly under the vent. Few people lasted more than a few minutes. It didn’t bother me much since it blew straight to the floor if nobody was standing there. :D
